The Israel Student Tourist Association (ISTA) announced today that It will be renewing its weekly excursions to Jordan next week for students carrying foreign passports. Seventeen persons are booked for next week’s trip, with about 45 persons going on the three-day excursion every succeeding Tuesday.

The renewal of the ISTA-sponsored excursions, after a 10-month ban from Amman, followed a Jordanian government decision to permit a two-way tourist traffic across the Jordan River bridges provided the tourists obtain visas from Jordanian Embassies in their home countries.

Most of the students planning to set out to Jordan have already acquired their visas. ISTA advised various student associations abroad to obtain Jordanian visas for members wishing to visit Amman after Israel. Arrangements are being made so that students who wish to go to Jordan and who are here without a visa will be able to obtain visas. ISTA officials did not specify exactly how it would be done.
