The second Jerusalem Conference on Information Technology will take place from July 29 through Aug. 1, it was announced here by the Jerusalem Economic Conference Computer Committee through the office of the Government of Israel Investment Authority.
The theme of the conference will be “Computers for Social and Economic Development.” The program will include invited papers by internationally renowned authorities; discussions dealing with such topics as university administration, health care delivery systems, urban planning, national manpower planning, education, public utilities planning and tourist facilities planning; and a computer exhibit. The conference, although international in scope and content, will provide the opportunity to examine the Israeli experience in using computers to promote development.
Papers submitted to the conference will be chosen for presentation by an international-panel of referees. There will be two prizes of $500 each for the most interesting paper and for the paper judged to be most appropriate to the theme of the conference. The first JCIT held in Aug. 1971 was highly successful, attracting participants from 40 countries outside Israel, as well as hundreds of Israeli professionals.
