A grove of 1000 trees in memory of Nicholas Tomalin, the British Journalist who was killed while reporting the Yom Kippur War on the Golan Heights for the Sunday Times, was planted by the Jewish National Fund of Great Britain and Ireland. A plaque on the site of the grove will serve as a memorial to Tomalin. A replica of the plaque and a certificate were presented to the widow, Claire Tomalin, by Cecil Bianco and Dr. Isaac Levy, president and director of the JNF, respectively.
