Soviet Jews Protest Maalot Outrage

Thirty Jewish activists demonstrated today in front of the Lebanese Embassy in Moscow and several of them were arrested by Soviet authorities, it was reported by the National Conference on Soviet Jewry. The demonstrators were driven away in a police van after they were stopped 200 yards from the Lebanese Embassy. The protestors carried a banner reading, “Shame on the murderers.” The NCSJ also reported that as many Jews who could sent cables to Israel expressing their condolences and reaffirming their support of the Jewish State.
