A large project to prevent floodwaters from breaking out of the Bohu riverbed (wadi) is currently being carried out by the Jewish National Fund. The project, carried out near Moshav Shuva in the northern Negev, enables saving large quantities of water which the wadi carries during the winter months, and prevents the erosion of topsoil. The JNF project involves earth-works with heavy tractors and planting of trees and bushes to reinforce the slopes on both sides of the riverbed.
