Premier Yitzhak Rabin visited the Israeli-Egyptian disengagement line in Sinai today, accompanied by Defense Minister Shimon Peres, Chief of Staff Gen. Mordechai Gur and senior army officers. They visited army units and installations and talked with soldiers and officers. Rabin and his group also inspected the Israeli deployment along the line. In their talks with soldiers and officers the question of volunteering and recruitment in the armed services was discussed. An effort is under way to persuade officers and non-coms to extend their duty beyond the prescribed three years service or other periods agreed upon in contracts with officers.
