The week-long strike by Jewish slaughterers, which has caused acute shortages of kosher meat, has been called off pending further pay negotiations. Kosher meat supplies will be back to normal next week. The 17 slaughterers of the shechita board wanted a wage hike from 53 Pounds to 100 Pounds a week. Thirteen kashrut supervisors, wanted an increase from 37 Pounds to 86 Pounds weekly.
