The explosion of a defective water heater in a suburban Jerusalem apartment house yesterday claimed a second life today. Yoram Zakri, one of six children and two adults buried under an avalanche of debris, succumbed to his wounds in a hospital this morning. One of his companions. Naftali Peretz, 9, was killed Instantly by the blast. The youngsters were playing in a lot adjacent to the eight story building when the explosion blew out the walls, destroying three apartments.

Engineers said today that the entire structure in the Kiryat Hayovel suburb was in danger of collapse and precautionary measures were being taken. Meanwhile, Jerusalem’s Mayor Teddy Kollek accused the Broadcasting Authority of reacting hastily with unfounded, sensational news bulletins that did considerable harm to public morale. He said that after the first news bulletin, tension rose in the Mascara quarter of Jerusalem bordering the Arab quarter of the Old City. The Mascara residents were thrown into panic when a booby-trapped ice box exploded in Zion Square two weeks ago killing 14 persons.
