A budget of $2.9 million for the maintenance and development of its nine major projects in the field of youth aliya and child restoration; vocational training and education; and social services and adult welfare in Israel, and self-education in the United States, was adopted by American Mizrachi Women yesterday at the close of a four-day 50th anniversary convention. American Mizrachi Women is a major women’s religious Zionist organization in the United States.

Mrs. Sarah Shane of Baltimore, AMW president, pointed out that more than 8000 persons in Israel are part of AMW’s network of nursery schools, settlement houses, community centers, vocational, agricultural and academic high schools and teaching seminaries. Also included in the budget is $200,000 for the Jewish National Fund. The budget includes funds for services for persons from the age of two, who are in AMW sleep-in nurseries in Israel, as well as aged adults who participate in activities in AMW centers for senior citizens.
