The Board of Deputies of British Jews has made a strong protest to the Home Office (Britain’s Interior Ministry) at the plans of the official IRA’s political wing–Sinn Fein–to invite the Palestine Liberation Organization to attend a conference of “revolutionary organizations” to be held later this year in Ireland. Part of the meeting will be held in Dublin and part in Belfast. The Sinn Fein is not a proscribed organization like the provisional Sinn Fein in Ireland. The Board’s defense committee chairman. Martin Savitt, sent the protest to Home Secretary Roy Jenkins urging that the government prevent entry into Britain of Palestinian terrorists to attend this meeting.
