Australia will provide a helicopter contingent to serve with United Nations forces supervising the Israeli-Egyptian interim agreement in Sinai, it was learned today. The unit will consist of four “Iroquois” helicopters and 45 air crew and maintenance personnel. The helicopters will be on duty in Sinai for at least two years. Foreign Affairs Minister Andrew Peacock made the arrangements for the contingent in discussions with United Nations Secretary General Kurt Waldheim in New York last month.
