The Ambassadors of Egypt and Israel will meet for the first time at a social event tonight at “a small informal dinner” at the Madison Hotel arranged by Barbara Walters, the ABC-TV commentator. An ABC source confirmed that Egyptian Ambassador Ashraf Ghorbal and Israeli Ambassador Simcha Dinitz will be guests of Miss Walters and ABC news and sports president Roone Arledge. The source declined to say who the other guests would be or their number. While booked as “small” and “informal,” and to be held in “a low key,” the ABC source acknowledged that media coverage would probably be extensive.
