More than two dozen members of Congress marking the seventh anniversary of Soviet Jewish Prisoner of Conscience Hillel Butman, sent an appeal an Butman’s behalf to Soviet Ambassador Dobrynin, the National Conference on Soviet Jewry’s Washington office reported. cosponsored by Reps. Newton Steers (R.Md.) and Joshua Eilberg (D.Pa.), the letter points out that Butman’s family in Israel has been waiting four years to see their husband and father.
