Greville Janner, the Anglo-Jewish leader and Member of Parliament, was involved in the contacts which led to King Hussein agreeing to meet Shimon Peres, leader of the Labor Alignment in Israel, in London two weeks ago, it was learned. It was at a private dinner party given by Janner that former King Constantine of Greece, an old friend of Hussein, told Peres that such a meeting could be arranged. However, when Peres telephoned Israeli Premier Menachem Begin about it, the Israeli leader requested him not to see Hussein, who has so far refused to join in the peace initiative launched by Egypt and Israel.
