Private investigations by residents of the province of Groningen in the northeast of Holland have led to the location of five more Dutch war criminals originating from the province and the nearby province of Drenthe. Three of them were sentenced in absentia after World War II to life imprisonment and two to death. Most of them are living in West Germany under their own names.
