Israel protested Monday in a letter to Secretary General Kurt Waldheim and the UN Secretariat, the listing of the “terrorist” Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as “government” in an official UN publication. The publication was issued by the Special Unit on Palestinian Rights at the UN Secretariat. “The Israeli letter stated in part: This is further evidence of the fact that the integrity of the UN Secretariat has been gravely compromised, and that the unit is a pliant tool in the hands of the terrorist PLO.”
