B’nai B’rith today announced that it will actively participate in the assistance of helping to resettle the Vietnamese boat people in Canada. Louis R. Ronson, president of the Canadian B’nai B’rith, advised that “all lodges and B’nai B’rith members are encouraged to send donations to the B’nai B’rith Foundation District 22 earmarking their contributions for ‘Project Rescue Boat People.’ All funds collected will be utilized in this major rescue operation to save families and individuals.”

Frank Dimant, executive vice president, said that “B’nai B’rith members will also be encouraged to provide temporary housing, food and employment for the new immigrants. As an organization committed to the basic philosophy of people helping people, we are confident that B’nai B’rith members will rally to this most humanitarian cause and come forth with assistance.”
