Synagogues throughout the country will be conducting special Tisha B’Av appeals for increased support of the Jewish National Fund by their congregations, Rabbi William Berkowitz, JNF president, announced here. He said that in response to the challenge of peace the JNF this year must prepare new settlements in the Galilee and the Negev because both areas are absolutely essential to Israel’s securely, economy and Future.
