A Jewish Agency survey committee which recently recommended to the Agency Executive that the program for developing Jewish education in Latin America for the next three years be continued, received a report Tuesday on what had been accomplished in the last four years. Haim Zohar, secretary general of the World Zionist Organization, who served as committee chairman, said the Jewish Agency spent some $6 million for the program during the last four years. The program’s aim is to deepen Jewish-Zionist education in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile, and to develop new study programs and improve the educational standards by training teachers.
