Nearly all the factions of the Anglo-Jewish community united today to urge the British government not to support a European initiative which would involve the Palestine Liberation Organization in the Middle East peace process.
Leaders of more than 70 organizations gathered in London to sign a letter to be presented tomorrow to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Although Anglo-Jewry lacks the electoral muscle of either American or French Jewry, it is persistent and tireless in its general support for Israel’s foreign policy and shares its opposition to a European initiative which would cut across the Camp David negotiating framework.
