LONDON (Jun. 26)
Shlomo Glickstein of Ashkelon, yesterday become the first Israeli to win a match of the Wimbledon tennis tournament when he upset Raul Ramirez of Mexico in five sets. The 22-year-old Glickstein, who is Israel’s No. I tennis player, may not savor his victory long since his second round competitor is Bjorn Borg, considered the Number 1 in the world. Glickstein, who has been playing tennis since the age of 10, twice lost in the first round of the Wimbledon juniors, in 1975 and 1976, but had not made the senior tournament until this year.
