The Cabinet Sunday approved a new pathology law which would give any close relative of a deceased person the right to veto a post mortem-by presenting his/her objections in writing. The present law gives more power to a panel of doctors in cases where families object to a post mortem. Under the proposed bill which may be presented in the Knesset this week only in cases of apparent criminal violence would a court be able to overrule a family objections.
