How Soviet Jews are fighting harassment and anti-Semitism is clearly shown in a new Portuguese-language volume containing translations of articles, poetry and stories that have appeared in the underground press in the Soviet Union, which has just been published. It is aimed at the Portuguese-speaking public in Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique and other African and Latin American countries. The new publication, a 184-page book entitled “Samizdat: Jewish Identity in the Soviet Union,” has been published by the Jewish Federation of Sop Paulo, Brazil, with the assistance of the American Jewish Committee.
