A leading Habad Hasid in Israel, the Rabbi of Lydda, Shraga Elimelech Kaplan, died today in Lod and was buried in Jerusalem. He was 68 years old. Kaplan was head of a yeshiva in the town and was considered a foremost Habad halachic and spiritual authority in the country.
