The Council to Save Jews in Arab Countries announced Sunday it will launch a worldwide campaign to try and save the 4,000 Jews still living in Syria. Spokesmen, including a former Syrian Jew who recently visited Damascus, reported that Syrian Jews are in dire plight, oppressed by the Syrians, caught between rival Moslem factions and living in fear of their lives. Appeals for help are to be made to the heads of friendly countries throughout the world.
