Fernando Levisky, a lawyer, writer and journalist, has died here at the age of 71. A member of the Sao Paulo Academy of Literature, he was the author of seven books, all of them in Portuguese, including “Israel in Brazil,” “My Brothers,” and a compendium of the Jewish Encyclopedia. For many years Levisky was active in the local Jewish community. A campaign he waged several years ago to eliminate offending references to Jews in Portuguese dictionaries and handbooks was partially successful.
