Chancellor Helmut Schmidt has complained in a meeting with American journalists that television stations in the United States were projecting an image of Germany largely influenced through films dealing with the Nazi era. Schmidt told his audience that time and again he has seen such films during visits in America. But the Chancellor conceded he could understand what many Americans especially Jews, feel about recent German history.
