The cost of living index rose by 8.4 percent during October, the government’s Central Bureau of Statistics announced Monday. During the first 10 months of the year the index rose by 106 percent, and at the present rote the index will have risen by 138 percent this year, the Bureau said. At the beginning of the year, Finance Minister Yoram Aridor said he hoped to reduce inflation this year to below 100 percent.
