About 1,039 children were sexually molested in Israel last year according to a report submitted to Social Affairs Minister Moshe Katzav this week by his ministry’s Youth Probation Service. The victims included 865 girls under the age of 14. The largest number of sex molestation incidents involving both sexes — 172 — was reported in the Jerusalem area.
