An IDF soldier hitchhiking near Nablus was attacked by Arabs over the weekend. The Soldier was slightly wounded, but managed to scare off his attackers. The soldier left his army base late Friday evening, apparently contrary to army regulations which ban soldiers from leaving their base after dark on private business. He tried to hitch a ride, when approximately at nine p.m., a car stopped next to him. Two Arabs got out of the car and attacked him. The soldier used the gun he had to scare them off. An army patrol, which heard the shots, rushed to the scene and evacuated the soldier to the Tel Hashomer hospital. The area was closed off for searches, but no arrests were reported.
