Arrow Missile Launch Successful

Initial reports indicated that the fourth and final test-firing of Israel’s Arrow (Hetz) anti-missile missile, carried out Wednesday, was a success.

The 42-second test flight was observed by U.S. scientists.

The first three test-firings had been described as less than fully successful, and Wednesday’s shot was intended to prove whether the lessons learned from the earlier mistakes had been correctly incorporated into the missile.

The Arrow is being designed and built by Israel Military Industries with U.S. financing.
