An unemployed resident of Bat Yam has won the largest pot ever to go to a single individual in Israel’s soccer betting pool — $10 million shekels ($3.6 million).
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was informed Saturday that a preliminary computer check of the results indicated he was the sole winner of the jackpot.
The man, who is said to have several children and grandchildren, spent $4 on his ticket, correctly forecasting the results of 15 soccer games held throughout the country.
