In an effort to serve potential investors in the area, an international business center was opened this week at the Erez crossing separating Israel from the Gaza Strip.

Israeli and Palestinian officials have in the past proposed creating industrial parks along the Israeli-Gazan border, as well as a number of development projects within Gaza itself.

The proposals were made in an effort to create jobs in Gaza, where unemployment runs high.
