Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright that Israel will keep to the timetable in the Wye agreement although the pact has not yet been ratified by Israel’s Cabinet or Knesset. The telephone conversation took place after Netanyahu informed Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat earlier on Monday that he would have to delay implementation of the accord until after the ratification votes. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority adhered to the timetable of the accord by providing the U.S. State Department with its working plan to combat terrorism.
