Dutch banks made billions of dollars trading property stolen by Nazis from the nation’s Jews during World War II, according to a book slated to be published in the Netherlands on Monday. In his Dutch-language book, “Robbery, the Theft of Jewish Belongings During World War II,” Alders asserts that the banks’ actions were covered up by government officials after the war for fear of a backlash.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
