The 13 Iranian Jews being held by Tehran on charges of espionage called their families Tuesday. The news comes after reports that the prisoners received a delivery of kosher food last week. Malcolm Hoenlein, the executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations said the “breakthrough news” was an indication that the prisoners were receiving rights “they should be entitled to,” and may have come in response to advocates having “lowered the decibels” of public outcry on behalf of the prisoners.
