Ehud Barak will officially become Israel’s prime minister Tuesday, when he is expected to present his Cabinet to the Knesset. Barak has spent the last seven weeks forging a coalition made up of 75 of the Knesset’s 120 members. On Monday, Barak handed out Cabinet portfolios to members of his One Israel bloc. Among the appointments were David Levy as foreign minister; Avraham Shochat, finance minister; Yossi Beilin, justice minister; Shlomo Ben-Ami, public security minister; and Dalia Itzik, environment minister.
