A religion teacher is reportedly the first of the 13 Iranian Jews facing espionage charges to reject the accusations in court. Farzad Kashi “denied all the charges, and his lawyer called for his release,” a spokesman for the defense team was quoted as saying. During the closed-door proceedings, Kashi’s brother, Faramarz, admitted to spying for the Jewish state, the sixth defendant to offer what many believe are forced confessions.
