A group calling itself the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine was formed in Kursk, a city south of Moscow, with the support of ultra-nationalist Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s Liberal Democratic Party. The group includes Palestinian students studying in Kursk and is allegedly engaged in the “educational work” of informing local residents why terrorism is necessary in the struggle against Israel, according to the Union of Councils for Jews in the former Soviet Union.
