Local Jewish officials asked the South African government to use its influence with the Palestinians to stop terrorist attacks in the Middle East. Responding to Wednesday’s “heinous terrorist attack” at Hebrew University’s Mount Scopus campus, the South African Jewish Board of Deputies asked the government to help bring a permanent halt to terrorist attacks so that progress could be made toward a peaceful settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
