Israel’s foreign minister said Monday that President Bush is likely to hold a summit with the Israeli and Palestinian prime ministers in Jordan next week. Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom spoke to reporters in Greece, where he will attend a meeting of Euro-Mediterranean foreign ministers. His remarks came a day after the Israeli government gave its qualified endorsement to the U.S.-backed “road map” toward Israeli-Palestinian peace. Jordan’s foreign minister told the French news agency that no final decision had been made yet on a venue for the summit.
