France stepped up security at Jewish sites for the High Holidays. The increased security comes after France’s interior minister, Dominique de Villepin, said 160 violent anti-Semitic acts had been reported in the first six months of 2004, compared to 75 such acts in the same period of 2003, Agence-France Presse reported.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
