Israel approved the handover of five West Bank cities to Palestinian Authority control and the release of 900 security prisoners. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and top Cabinet members authorized the moves Thursday so they could be presented to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as a good-will package at next week’s peace summit in Egypt.
