Israel’s U.N. envoy protested recent threatening statements against the Jewish state by Iran’s president. In a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Israeli ambassador Dan Gillerman asserted that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s “highly appalling and offensive statements” constitute a violation of the U.N. Charter and an incitement to racism and genocide.
