Greenberg resigns foundation presidency

Rabbi Irving “Yitz” Greenberg has stepped down as president of the Jewish Life Network/Steinhardt Foundation. Greenberg said in a press release that he wants to focus on writing a book about the theology of Judaism.Greenberg, who has served as president since 1995, “played a significant role in developing the vision and infrastructure” for many of the network’s major programs, founder Michael Steinhardt said in the press release. “It was a privilege to participate in this decade of JLN/Steinhardt Foundation and the creation of birthright israel, Makor, PEJE and other exciting entrepreneurial projects to assure the Jewish future,” Rabbi Greenberg said. PEJE is the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education. The Jewish Life Network/Steinhardt Foundation, founded in 1994, aims to revitalize Jewish identity through educational, religious and cultural initiatives that attract all Jews, but especially those on the margins of Jewish life.
