A bill banning the sale or export of parts for F-14 fighter jets to Iran won bipartisan support in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill passed by the House Monday is aimed at preventing 10,000 parts for F-14 fighter jets from entering Iran, the only country flying the American-made aircraft. The banned parts, which Iran cannot produce, are critical for keeping the supersonic warplanes operational.F-14s were sold to Iran before the Islamic Revolution of 1979 when the United States and Iran were still allies.Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) introduced the bill.
