News Brief

An environmental partnership between Israel and its neighbors will be featured at a U.N. conference on climate change. One of the workshops at the conference, which begins Wednesday, will feature representatives of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies based at Kibbutz Ketura in southern Israel. The workshop will focus on ways Israel has partnered with its neighbors in formulating joint water-management strategies, according to Hadassah, which is sponsoring the workshop. The three-day conference is expected to draw 2,000 representatives of nongovernmental organizations from more than 80 countries.
