Nader: Obama is too pro-Israel

During an interview about why he’s running for president, Ralph Nader told NBC’s Tim Russert on Sunday that Obama is too pro-Israel and doesn’t do enough to support the Israeli peace camp (jump ahead to 1:15) .

At about the same time that the interview was being aired, Obama was meeting in Cleveland with Jewish leaders. To be sure, the senator hit all of the main points favored by the pro-Israel lobby – but he also criticized those who act as if the only way to be pro-Israel is to be pro-Likud, and also suggested that Americans should follow the lead of Israelis in conducting a more robust debate on peace and security issues (read the transcript).
