Scandal-plagued Ohio AG Dann resigns

Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann resigned in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal.

Dann, a Jewish Democrat, was under threat of impeachment and had until now ignored a myriad of public calls from Democratic leaders and Gov. Ted Strickland to resign.

Wednesday’s resignation ended a six-week drama, which included revelations that Dann had an affair with an aide, which led to an uncomfortable atmosphere in his office that precipitated the harassment accusations against another aide.

Dann, 46, married with three children, was elected in 2006 on an anti-corruption platform after an investment scandal in the previous administration went as high as former Gov. Bob Taft, a Republican.
