Latin American legislators have gathered in Buenos Aires to discuss ways to combat international terrorism.

The meeting Thursday and Friday was organized by the Latin American Jewish Congress. Members from Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Peru have joined the legislators.

“This event will strengthen the fight against terrorism and will help to develop preventive measures in all the countries of the region,” said Jack Terpins, the president of the Latin American Jewish Congress.

The gathering is taking place on the 14th anniversary of the AMIA Jewish community center bombing, which will be marked on Friday morning.
